July 31st, 2010

If there is one place in your home that is most frequented by mold infection it is probably the basement. The natures of basements being underground are the places where molds can lurk and live prosperously. Basements usually lack the proper ventilation, lighting and have leaks from pipes that are settled there. Heat in basements are inevitable and when basements are made as storage areas, condensation brought about by the water from the leaking pipes can also add up to the conditions favorable for mold growths.

One thing you should remember as a way of mold abatement and preventing mold infection in your basement is keeping off the spores of molds to circulate inside your basement. Molds can be found on woods, wall papers, cements, ceiling tiles, insulating materials, papers, cartons, old leather shoes and any organic materials which they can feed up to. Since you cannot eliminate all these things on which they grow, you have to clean up the whole area including the things on which they grow too. Unfortunately, being able to express your holiday enthusiasm can cost quite a large sum of money; especially as utility rates continue to rise. With solar patio lights, homeowners can create their own “Candy Cane Lane” or make a lighted pathway which leads guests to a welcoming cup of wassail.

Some patio lighting options have been specifically designed for holiday use. They come in LED light colors of clear/white, red and green. Usually sold in sets, these lights can be charged during the daytime, requiring eight hours of charge time, and will produce eight hours of nighttime illumination. Depending on the homeowner’s preference, holiday-themed, solar lights may be made brighter or dimmer. To make the glow brighter, lights will need to charge in full sunlight; while to make them dimmer, lights can be charged in partial sunlight.
