A water hose is a common household item that is widely used to transport water from water tank, ponds etc to the gardens, lawns and farm. Water pump is a vital component of water hose system as it pumps the water from a source to the destination place.

The “power rating” of a pump determines the rate of flow at which water is carried through the hose. There are various types of pumps which generally differ from each other in term of horse power. These are all designed to meet the requirement of different customers. If someone wants to pump the water from a source which is situated at lower side toward a higher region then a high power pump needs to be installed. The installation of a low power pump will lead to frequent burn outs as it won’t be able to bear the load.

Water pump is an essential component which should be taken care of while buying a hose package. One of the important features that need to be considered is the type and power of water pump. Make sure that pump is fully compatible with all other garden hose components like nozzle, adapter and fittings. It is also imperative to check the water pump to be certified by the manufacturer of your hose reel and whether it meets all the safety standards as defined by various government agencies. Water leakage is one of the most common problems faced by most of the users of water hoses. Water leakage is caused by use of faulty connectors and sometime this leakage result in short circuits leading to complete burn out of water pumps. Regularly check the water pump and make sure that it is serviced after every three months. Consult a qualified professional in case pump produces some kind of weird sounds. Try to repair the pump at the earliest before it is too late.
