A Pop Up Gazebo Is Perfect For Outdoor Fun

December 1st, 2010 No comments »

You will probably find if you buy a pop up gazebo tent that you end up using it a lot. There are different styles of tents you can buy, ranging from the heavy duty pop up gazebo type to the small waterproof pop up gazebo that goes up in minutes. All are equally useful; here are a few ideas of ways you could use them, though you will probably think of many more ideas once you start using it.

One place where it is ideal to use the smaller pop up style of tent is at the beach. You can quickly set it up once you arrive at the beach and then alternate between spending time in the shade of the tent, and sunning yourself on the sand. If you wanted to you could bring along a cooler box and a few camping chairs and spend the entire day in comfort at the beach.

Many people also like to erect gazebos outdoors in their yard or garden. These can be left up for many days at a time, weather permitting, or they can be simply put up as an outdoor entertaining area. Many are big enough to fill with outdoor furniture and if well lit they can be used for parties and entertaining guests both during the day and at night.

Another time when you may find a small pop up gazebo useful is when you go on a picnic or barbecue. Just as when you are at the beach, you will find you have a refuge from the hot sunshine and a place to keep » Read more: A Pop Up Gazebo Is Perfect For Outdoor Fun

Maytag Refrigerators

December 1st, 2010 No comments »

Maytag refrigerators come in many different forms.  One popular style of Maytag refrigerator freezers happens to their Bottom Freezer refrigerators. In this article I discuss this particular type of Maytag fridge freezer.

The cheapest Maytag refrigerator of this style is the MBF2258XEB.  This unit contains 22 cubic feet of available space – 6 dedicated to the freezer and a little over 15 cubic foot inside the refrigerated compartment.

The price for this unit is thirteen hundred dollars and this model can be had in any of traditional white, basic black, or – for those a little more adventurous – a bisque finish.

There is a nice feature set on this Maytag refrigerator.  It includes a dual cool feature designed to ensure the highest possible level of freshness for both frozen foods and fresh produce.  The dual adjustable deli-drawers allow for efficient use of the crisper compartments.

This refrigerator freezer also includes a built-in ice machine unit, and the freezer drawers glide freely in and out using Maytag’s SmoothClose Drawer system – one of their own trademarked innovations.

This Maytag refrigerator is also available – for an extra two hundred dollars – with a stainless steel finish. The MBL2258XES is similar to the MBF2258SEB except for a left opening stainless steel door.  Likewise, the MBR2258XES reverses the door, for a right opening entrance.  Buyers seeking to match their fridge freezer to existing stainless steel appliances will want to choose one of these models. » Read more: Maytag Refrigerators

Are Looking for Patio Umbrella Lights?

December 1st, 2010 No comments »

There are a few different reasons why you might be looking for these specific types of lights for your outdoor patio or backyard space. The first, and most likely reason, is for looks. After all, this is a big factor when it comes to seeing and illuminating a patio area at night. The other reason is for safety. While this issue is important, it is likely more common to be a function of other types of outdoor lighting products over the lights for beneath your umbrella.

The safety feature should not be ignored, however, even if it is not your primary concern. In fact, you need to incorporate all types of lighting on your patio or deck in order for the specific lighting elements to come into play anyway. Having just lights for ambiance, like the ones you are looking for, are great but will not help you or your guests navigate the stairs or steps around your patio, deck or backyard areas. You can get a little bit of both from those rope lights that are used for railings and stairs, like you might see in a movie theater or airplane aisles.

To add another dimension to your lighting needs, consider using patio string lights as a way of giving your patio some flair. These particular types of lights come in a variety of patterns, shapes and other designs that can work well with what ever type of theme or decor you have.

When you combine this type of string light with the other popular ‘ring-light’, you end up with a great mix. The string lights can be wrapped or clipped to the umbrellas framework beneath the canopy to give you a great look – and light. The ring mounts around the pole and shines down from above. The ring is often battery or solar powered and has LED lights for brighter, cooler light that lasts many times longer than halogen or incandescent bulbs. » Read more: Are Looking for Patio Umbrella Lights?

Garden Planters Make The Difference

November 28th, 2010 No comments »

While a garden is mainly about the plants, flowers, and trees that are inside it, many other components add to its beauty and feel. Garden chairs, gates, fountains, and other natural items like boulders and rocks, are just a few examples. One key element in this list, however, the garden planter, is an item that can potentially enhance all of the other components, and further add to the garden’s overall aesthetic style.

Simply put, a garden planter is a container which can hold plants, herbs, and small trees, in places where these plants can’t easily be grown or placed. They are made of many different materials, and can come in a variety of styles that can accentuate both the garden’s looks, and the plants’ appearance.

The advantages of using planters, rather than just placing the plants on firm soil, are many. First, it allows plants to be grown indoors, making them ideal for those who do not have plots of » Read more: Garden Planters Make The Difference

Tips For Using Pond Pumps And Filters

November 27th, 2010 No comments »

Ponds are beautiful to look at and if they contain a waterfall or water feature are especially tranquil to the ear. For the pond to remain healthy it must be kept free of contamination in the form of debris and dirt, which can pollute the water. To help keep your pond clean install a fish pond pump at its bottom. You can purchase a pond pump at your local pond supplier or garden centre. To maintain a pond efficiently it must be treated in the same way that a swimming pool is kept clean and healthy; with a good filtration system. Debris and algae will collect on your pond’s surface if you don’t maintain it regularly and in turn, can affect the water chemistry.

Make sure you choose the correct pump for your size pond; the best way is to ask for advice at your local dealers. Get as big a filter as you can afford for your pond to keep your water crystal clear and well oxygenated.
When thinking of a location for your pond, keep away from trees. Their leaves and perhaps falling twigs will collect on the pond’s surface and can change the water’s chemistry over time making it difficult to live in if you have fish. Make sure your filter is powerful enough and can cope with a few of these kinds of fragments.
Do not use bleach anywhere near your pond as this will kill your fish and plants. If you wish to keep fish then make sure your filter is fitted correctly and situated out of the fishes’ way, as they will need space to swim unrestricted. » Read more: Tips For Using Pond Pumps And Filters
